This policy explains what personal information Silly Goat Goods collects when you use sillygoatgoods.com or buy from us, why we collect it, and your rights.
Who we are
Silly Goat Goods is run by Darren Hunt, a sole trader based in Berkeley, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom. Darren Hunt is the data controller for your personal information. Contact: hello@sillygoatgoods.com.
What we collect
- Order details: your name, delivery and billing address, email address, phone number (if given) and what you ordered.
- Payment details: card and wallet payments are handled securely by our payment provider (WooPayments, powered by Stripe). We never see or store your full card number.
- Account details: if you create an account, your login details and order history.
- Messages: anything you send us by email or through our contact form.
- Newsletter: your email address, only if you choose to sign up.
- Technical data: basic information such as IP address, browser type and pages visited, collected through cookies and server logs. See our Cookies page.
How and why we use it
- To process, make and deliver your order, and to handle returns and refunds (necessary to perform our contract with you).
- To reply to your questions and provide customer service (contract / our legitimate interests).
- To prevent fraud and keep the site secure (legitimate interests).
- To keep accounting and tax records (legal obligation).
- To send you our newsletter or offers, only if you’ve agreed. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email (consent).
Who we share it with
We only share what’s needed to run the shop. We never sell your information.
- Printify and its print partners – to print and post your order (name, address, order details).
- Delivery companies – to deliver your parcel.
- WooPayments / Stripe – to take payment and prevent fraud.
- Hostinger – who host our website and email.
- Professional advisers or authorities – if the law requires it.
Some of these providers are based in or use servers outside the UK (for example in the USA). Where this happens, your information is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent approved contracts.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as required for UK tax purposes. Customer account details are kept until you ask us to delete your account. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Other messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, to have it transferred to you or another company, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, email hello@sillygoatgoods.com. We’ll respond within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Security
Our site uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and payments are processed by a PCI-compliant provider. We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe.
